| How to Change LPG Distributor |
#LPG Refill Booking Portability: The government has approved the portability of LPG refills. Meaning now you can get your LPG cylinder filled from anywhere. No gas distributor will refuse you. If the consumer feels that he is not happy with the distributor of his Oil Marketing Company, he can choose any other distributor in his place. LPG refill booking portability was a demand for a long time, now it has been approved.
How to change distributor?
According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, LPG customers will get a discount that they can get LPG refilled from any distributor themselves. Customers will be able to select their "Delivery Distributor" from the distributor list. As a pilot project, it will be launched in Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Pune and Ranchi.
Where to get the list of distributors?
When the customer opens the mobile app/customer portal and logs in to refill LPG, he will see the complete list of distribution distributors along with ratings based on their performance. Which helps the customer to choose the best distributor. This will also put pressure on the distributors to improve their performance.

The customer can select any distributor from this list, which will be available in his area and will deliver LPG refill. This will not only provide better service to the customers but will also start an initiative among the distributors to provide better facilities to the customers. This will improve their rating.
Online transfer facility will be available on the portal
The facility of online transfer of LPG connections to other distributors serving in the same region has been provided to LPG customers through the web-portal of the respective Oil Marketing Companies as well as their mobile app. Using his registered login, the customer can select the distributor of his OMC from the list of distributors serving in his area and can choose to port his LPG connection.
Distributor will have the option to persuade the customer
The distributor will have the option to persuade his customer. The distributor has to ensure that the customer does not face any problem with the service. Portability request can be withdrawn within 3 days if accepted by the customer. If not, the connection will be automatically assigned to another distributor. Hence, the customer will be transferred online to another distributor of the same company operating in the same market without visiting the distributorship. This facility will be absolutely free. OMCs have successfully completed 55759 portability requests in May 2021.
